DCISFF PSA FILM Contest
What is a PSA Film?
It’s a short film (29 seconds) that advertises
the Dawson City International Short Film festival.
Below is a sample. (2008 Contest Winner John Overell)
Contest Rules
C.B.C. North will broadcast a P.S.A. on television to promote the 11th annual Dawson City International Short Film Festival.
We want you to produce a short film to be used as the P.S.A. promoting the Film Festival.
The P.S.A. can encompass any genre (i.e. drama, comedy, documentary, animation, experimental, etc.)
The duration must be 29 seconds. (No exceptions)
The winning production is awarded $300 cash and is broadcast on CBC North!!!
Other entries may be chosen to be shown as signal films at the 2010 Dawson City International Short Film Festival
You can enter as many P.S.A.’s as you want.
There is no age limit for contestants
You can shoot on any medium (all video and film formats)
The P.S.A. must be produced in the Yukon, and 2 copies submitted on mini dv or DVD
This basic information must be included: Dawson City International Short Film Festival, April 1-4, 2010, www.dawsonfilmfest.com

If it is not included it will superimposed over an appropriate section of the winning P.S.A. for a duration of up to 6 seconds
Entries must be received by 4 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2010

Permissions
By submitting to the Dawson City International Short Film Festival (DCISFF), the filmmaker (or their representative) agrees that:
The entrant agrees that if chosen their work will be shown on CBC North.
DCISFF is permitted to use the submitted works for publicity and promotional purposes;
Contact info for filmmakers and/or distributors will be published in the festival program and website.
DCISFF is permitted to retain the submitted video for inclusion in our non-circulating library (archives);
DCISFF is not responsible for any damage or loss to materials submitted in any way;
The person signing the entry form must be legally authorized to enter this film in the 2009 Dawson City International Short Film Festival.
Any copyrighted materials included in the work must have been legally cleared for use.
