Special Programs This year we are pleased to present some unique programs of films. We have integrated the films into our regular program so that each screening contains a diverse range of filmmaking. The Other North (ON): A program of award winners and highlights from the Tromso International Film Festival in Norway. Thanks to Henning Roselund. www.tiff.no ImagineNATIVE (IN): A selection of films from the 2006 ImagineNative Film Festival. Curated by Kerry Barber. www.imaginenative.org Yukon Verite (YV): Digging beyond the surface mythologies of gold rushes and Sam McGee’s ashes, prospectors of Yukon culture often unearth a restless yet defiant identity from the muck of extremes. Polarities of cold/hot, light/dark, community/isolation, wellness/dysfunction are the springboards which inspire more artists per capita than anywhere else in Canada. The 10 short films produced in the *Yukon Verite Documentary Program* are the product of these personal explorations. Presented by the Yukon FIlm Society and the National Film Board of Canada, these emerging Yukon filmmakers were mentored and supported in the production of their works over four months in the fall of 2006.
